Note that the OoO is a passive speaker and requires an amplifier or receiver to play sound. It cannot play sound directly from a turntable, phone, or TV without an amplifier.<\/b><\/p>\n

Build a great sound system for listening to music or watching movies even when space is limited! The compact Micca OoO speaker sounds much larger than it looks, giving listeners a fully immersive experience with its dynamic and extended sound signature. Its slim shape can be used horizontally as a center channel speaker, vertically as bookshelf speakers, or use with optional wall mounting brackets as surround sound speakers. This flexibility allows a sound system to be built using one or more units of the Micca OoO in phases, with the ability to move the OoO to different locations as needed.<\/p>\n

Each OoO speaker holds two 3-inch square frame woofers in a ported enclosure, achieving usable bass extension down to 60Hz. The woofer’s woven kevlar diaphragm has been carefully designed to produce little midrange distortion and a naturally steep high frequency roll-off. The tweeter is based on Micca’s popular 0.75-inch silk dome design, using a high efficiency neodymium magnet and small diameter bezel for tight driver spacing.<\/p>\n

A relatively simple yet effective crossover handles the frequency transition between the drivers. A 6dB\/Octave low-pass circuit is used on the woofers while a 12dB\/Octave high-pass circuit with level matching is used on the tweeter. The crossover slopes and points were carefully chosen to mesh with the drivers’ natural characteristics to produce a flat and coherent final acoustic response. The OoO sound best with its cloth grill in place.<\/p>\n
