I bought this item to replace an old NUTONE IMA4600 device. Took me a couple of weeks of research, but I found this as a replacement. The key was to having an in wall amplifer, since the speakers in the ceiling around the house needed it. The downside of this product is yes, you need to provide your own cord. Also, the device does not have a microphone and because of that a lot of apps will not integrate. I couldnt install Alexa, ADT, and a few other apps. For those interested, the workaround for Alexa was using the auxilary in the back and plugging in the amazon echo input. The input fits nicely in the device housing so you dont even see it. Now the device can take commands. However, still no ALEXA app.
